Geochemical Mapping
|
|
|
- This is an on-going programme that involves the analysis of thousands of samples of soils, rocks, sediments, water & plants taken from accurately known locations, for as many
elements as possible (currently about 60). Existing information from other programs with geographically referenced data, e.g. agricultural productivity, biodiversity, epidemiology, geology,
land use, and remote sensing are also incorporated as layers into the database.

- Levels in Jamaican soils.
- Uptake by plants.
- Concentrations in the kidneys and livers of ruminants.
- Concentration in the kidneys and livers of human autopsy subjects.
- Blood levels in Jamaican children.
- Studies on Radon, Uranium and Thorium in Jamaica.
